Regional Harmonization Initiatives
Agreement on Uniform Vehicle Weights and
Dimensions (2001 and 2010)
In May 2001 Ministers
responsible for vehicle weight and dimensions regulations within Atlantic
Canada approved a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to improve the uniformity
of regulatory requirements within the region. Regulatory changes required to
implement the provisions of the agreement were completed in early 2002.
In November 2010 the
MOU was updated to expand the scope of the agreement and to incorporate changes
introduced in the national MOU on Vehicle Weights and Dimensions.
