Harmonization of Special Permit Conditions for Long Combination Vehicles (LCV)

Collaboration between officials and trucking industry representatives in British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba has been ongoing to improve the compatibility of special permit conditions for movement of Long Combination Vehicles within the region. In 2012 agreement was reached on permit conditions for operation of Turnpike Double LCV Configurations on multi-lane highways within western Canada. In 2014 a similar agreement was reached for operation of Rocky Mountain Double LCV Configurations on multi-lane highways and on designated two lane highways.

Harmonization of Special Permit Conditions for Oversize and Overweight Loads (2002)

In November 2002 Ministers responsible for vehicle weight and dimensions regulations in British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba endorsed a Memorandum of Understanding which will improve the compatibility of special permit conditions for movement of oversize and overweight indivisible loads within the region.

Harmonization of Special Permit Conditions for Movement of Hay Bales (2002)

In November 2002 Ministers responsible for vehicle weight and dimensions regulations in British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba endorsed a Memorandum of Understanding regarding special permit conditions for movement of hay bales within the region within the region (under special permits)
